How Do We Work?

With over 10 years of experience designing for the hospitality industry Vight's team of local and international designers quickly determine a project's need. We'll work with our clients, whichever process is to be followed, to ensure what is signed off is exactly as wanted. Below is our full process from concept to project delivery.

1 Concept

We first "get under the skin" of the project, determining the expectations of the target clientele. We then strive to exceed those expectations, be it within a tight budget or a generous one.

2 Design Development

Having determined the project's parameters we think "within the box" (and on occasion outside it) to generate inspired ideas for each light.  These we review internally, and with the client, to filter until we settle on the final concept designs. Knowing this we, through renders and aesthetic drawings, progress through to full technical drawings.

3 Technical Development

We value engineer, technically review, and validate each design to ensure it optimally suits its intended environment and usage. Our process goes beyond ease of installation; we also consider maintenance needs and ease of cleaning. Where appropriate we ensure protection against water ingress and corrosive atmospheres.

Depending on the location, advanced fixed-state controlled LED lighting or locally available bulbs may be recommended. Additionally, we ensure compliance with CE, UL, SAA, PSE, CCC, or BIS standards and always strive to limit environmental impacts.

4 Sourcing and Manufacture

We have long-standing relationships with many highly professional and skilled factories.  The prime ones being with our lighting factories but also with glass (artisan, blown, pressed and crystal), ceramic, marble, terrazzo/concrete, cast metal, wood, leather, rattan, bamboo and more.  Our skill, and why we love lighting, is that in combining these materials we make the functional beautiful.

The lighting factories are experts at metal fabrication and finishing.  They have wide experience and the skill to assemble simple lights efficiently and the most complex perfectly.  The whole process is perpetually checked by in-house QC with 100% of the lights produced safety tested.

5 Delivery and Completion

Having designed in quality and overseen production, we ensure the lights are perfectly packed.  Nevertheless, we insist in all cases, on a further final QC AQL inspection.  Customers are welcome to witness this process or send their own inspectors to verify all is satisfactory.

Once all is assured we will carefully load the goods and dispatch in accordance with the agreed freight term.
